About OLB
Since 1980, the Oak Lawn Symphonic and Marching Band has served the DFW community both by performing locally and nationally as a founding member of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association at such events as the inauguration ceremonies of both Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, Gay Games, the March on Washington, and many historic concerts and parades. Today, the Oak Lawn Symphonic Band provides free concert season that runs from September through June. The Oak Lawn Band Marching Band performs through out the year as a marching and pep band for a number of parades including the Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade, and Pride Parades in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Ft. Worth..
Our Mission
The Oak Lawn Band is a non-profit musical organization for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. The Oak Lawn Band dedicates itself to serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allies (LGBTA) community and its causes as well as other communities within Texas and the United States. As such, we provide a welcoming and supportive environment for performers regardless of gender identity, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and musical ability. The Band, through performance and other activities, provides educational, cultural, and social enrichment for its members and audience.
Artistic Director
