About OLB
Our Mission
The Oak Lawn Band is a non-profit musical organization for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. The Oak Lawn Band dedicates itself to serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allies (LGBTA) community and its causes as well as other communities within Texas and the United States. As such, we provide a welcoming and supportive environment for performers regardless of gender identity, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and musical ability. The Band, through performance and other activities, provides educational, cultural, and social enrichment for its members and audience.
Artistic Director
The Oak Lawn Band is under the Artistic Direction of Todd Woods who joined our organization in January, 2009.
The Board
The Oaklawn Band of Dallas elects board members by democratic process annually. Officers operate all business aspects of the band and hold meetings monthly, as well as ad hoc when necessary. Members in good standing can nominate or run as a band officer. The officers’ group operates by an established set of by-laws. Officer’s meetings are open for all interested band members to attend.
